Gables of Rostock
Guided walking tours and sightseeing bus tours

Did you know ...

... that the university of Rostock is the oldest in the North of Germany and the Baltic area. Today more than 15,000 students study here. It was often called „the light of the north“. Greifswald, the other university in our federal state was founded 1456 and is the third oldest.
... that in 1882 a basket maker from Warnemünde invented the first wicker beach chair for a noble elderly lady with such a sucess that soon nobody could imagine a proper beach without one. Today they are very comfort-able with foot rests and adjustable back. Surely we will soon find out how to integrate an Espresso machine or TV screen…

You can either book one of our classic city tours or order a guide at your individual schedule and interest. Standard tour duration is 2 hours. Longer or shorter tours are also available. A meeting point will be agreed on individually.
Here's an overview of our program:

Rostock - the highlights of the city (guided walk)

Rostock - a journey through present and past

The route leads through the historic old town, the suburbian and industrial areas of the 19th and 20th century as wells as the modern residential areas of the east-german era.

Warnemünde - behind the scenes in the seaside resort

The seaside resort of Warnemünde is a favorite for tourists all year round. It is also Germany`s most popular cruise port, welcoming visitors from the US and UK all through the summer. Walking in Warnemünde you`ll get to know the life of the seafarers and fishermen including their houses and lifestyle. Along the promenade at the shore side you`ll hear stories of extraordinary summer guests now and then and see the best of Warnemündes architecture. A visit to the lighthouse or the folklore museum can also be included. Warnemünde is full of stories outside the big history.

Combine Rostock & Warnemünde!

Why not do both of them in one tour and experience the different ambience! You could explore the city with its significant sights and continue on to Warnemünde by coach or with a one-hour scenic harbour cruise on the Warnow river connecting Rostock with the Baltic Sea.
