An excursion to the German capital Berlin is a great day tour option, if your cruise ship is docking for a full day in Warnemuende or Rostock. Berlin is a vibrant city with a multi-layered history and ever changing city scape. After an approx. 2.5 (van) to 3 hour (bus) transfer through the soft Mecklenburg and Brandenburgian landscape along the highway, a sightseeing tour of the most signifiant and exciting sights of Berlin with some time for lunch and shopping (approx. 5-6 hours stay in Berlin) will be your urban exploration. The panoramic drive with photo stops and short walks can be adapted to your special interest. Other than this the following attractions are usually included: Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag, parts of the Wall, Check Point Charlie, Unter den Linden Boulevard with Humboldt University, Museum Island, parts of East Berlin, Holocaust Memorial, the Kurfuerstendamm with Emperor William Memorial Church and Charlottenburg Palace. More sightseeing time permitting. Your guide will navigate you through Berlin's exciting history including the Imperial days, Third Reich, Cold War and the present day metropolis.
